Representative Cases

  • Aviation: appointed Friend of Court and Guardian Ad Litem for all eligible minors of plane crash victims; helped oversee distribution of attorneys fees and issues regarding the estates of the deceased
  • Aviation: appointed Guardian Ad Litem to minors of plane crash victims; helped facilitate successful settlement negotations and establish structured annuities for minors
  • Class Action: appointed Guardian Ad Litem and Friend of Court in toxic tort class action involving over 500 individual claims; helped court with discovery schedule, reviewed wrongful death petitions and assisted in pre-trial settlement conferences
  • Construction Defect: Mediator in Discovery for case involving the remediation of an apartment complex; complex owner sued contracting company claiming that the final product had multiple defects
  • Construction Defect: dispute between luxury home owner and contractor; homeowner alleged that final product had over $1 million worth of defects
  • Contract, Fiduciary Duty and Fee Dispute: case involving law firm alleging breach of fiduciary duty by former employees who independently represented clients while employed; employees brought counterclaim against firm alleging breach of a contract in which they were to receive a third of fees for all business they brought in; selected as arbitrator for case after unsuccessful mediation
  • Contract, Non-Compete and Restrictive Convenants: Mediator in Discovery for dispute involving health care clinic seeking restitution for unjust enrichment and breach of contract by former head physician
  • Employment: Mediator in Discovery for case involving a plaintiff claiming their former employer owed them back wages
  • Non-Compete, Patent and Restrictive Covenants: Mediator in Discovery involving company claiming that former employees used patented technology to start a competing company
  • Trademark: Mediator in Discovery for infringement dispute between German and Chinese companies that involved patent troll actions
  • Wrongful Death and Personal Injury: served as independent neutral evaluator and later mediator for more than 50 death cases as the result of an airliner crash in Peru;  retained by global specialist insurer to mediate the remaining 25 cases, all cases successfully mediated
