Hon. James P. Etchingham, (Ret.) is an experienced mediator and arbitrator with more than 34 years as a trial attorney and judge. He has extensive expertise in settling and resolving complex civil matters, including personal injury, auto liability, civil rights, domestic relations, government and real estate cases. His tenacity and unique people skills allow him to bring all parties to the table and resolve disputes efficiently. He is currently principal at Etchingham Law.

  • 17-year legal career as an attorney trying and settling personal injury, tort, chancery, criminal, complex litigation, government and annexation matters
  • Completed 40-hour mediation course, Circuit Court of Cook County, 2009

Over the years, I have worked with many mediators and settled many class actions.   A case I brought to ADR Systems proved to be the most difficult.  Through great efforts, Judge McGann guided us to a deal.  I do not believe any other mediator I’ve worked with could have settled this case.  Judge McGann is a joy to work with, and at the top of my list.
