Hon. Arthur L. Janura, Jr., (Ret.) is a skilled mediator and arbitrator with experience in construction, tort, personal injury and medical malpractice matters. He has conducted felony hearings in criminal cases, industrial matters, traffic accident cases, contract disputes and forcible entry and detainer cases. Judge Janura is known for making well-researched decisions and for helping opponents in a legal battle find common ground. He has handled hundreds of bench trials and led more than 180 civil jury trials to verdict.

  • Ardente vs. Village of South Barrington:Civil Rights violations
  • Lucas v. Zeta:  County and State Human Rights violations in employment and claims involving the Cook County Human Rights Ordinance
  • Village of Schaumberg v. Jeep Eagle:  Constitutional violations of zoning ordinance
  • Short-Term Loans, LLC v. Michael B. Alaka:  Loan transaction case in which federal and state consumer protection statutes were violated; ruling in favor of the defendant and counter plaintiff-appellant
  • Hertz Claim Management Corp. v. Mueller:  Claim of equitable restitution stemming from a staged automobile accident
