Irving B. Levinson, Esq.


Irving B. Levinson, Esq. is a skilled mediator and arbitrator, known for his expertise in resolving complex business and corporate matters. He concentrates his practice in mediations and arbitrations of business disputes in securities litigation, real estate, corporate and intellectual property, product liability and construction.

Mr. Levinson is a frequent lecturer and author on litigation strategy, mediation and commercial arbitration. He has taught Trial Advocacy as an Adjunct Professor of Law at Northwestern University Law Center, and he currently teaches Business and Corporate Mediation at DePaul University School of Law where he is also the Chairman of the DePaul Center for Dispute Resolution, Business Mediation Task Force. Mr. Levinson founded and chaired Bell Boyd & Lloyd’s Corporate Counsel Forum, developing numerous litigation and ADR educational programs for corporate counsel. In addition, he was the Director of Litigation Consulting Services at BDO Seidman, LLP where he developed a team of business, accounting and economic experts who assisted in the resolution of business disputes. In February 2012, he was selected by the DePaul Center for Dispute Resolution to serve as its Executive Director of Corporate and Business ADR Programs.

  • Mr. Levinson has tried numerous complex cases in federal and state courts throughout the United States and consulted on cases in Australia, Canada, China, Germany and Japan, bringing a pragmatic, proactive approach to resolving disputes; he has successfully managed E-Discovery disputes in complex business, product liability and intellectual property lawsuits

  • Several national product liability claims, including healthcare products, construction products, consumer products and software and hardware products
  • Multi-million dollar verdict for an Internet start-up against a multi-billion dollar computer company after a lengthy federal trial based upon unfair competition and trade secrets claims
  • Defended a $100 million fraud and breach of contract claim against a publicly traded health care company, obtaining a favorable settlement prior to jury verdict
  • Multi-million dollar commercial fraud dispute relating to South American business enterprise
  • Mediated claims of securities fraud, commercial fraud and misrepresentation arising from the purchase or sale of a business
  • Represented United States Olympic Committee in a federal lawsuit over composition of United States Olympic team
  • Mediated multi-million dollar compensatory and punitive damages claims between Hong Kong and United States import/export enterprises
