ADR Systems

ADR Systems is pleased to announce that Hon. Lynn M. Egan, (Ret.) has joined our panel of senior mediators and arbitrators. Judge Egan has nearly 22 years of judicial experience in the Cook County Circuit Court. Hundreds of cases were transferred to her for settlement conferences.

“In my time on the bench, doing voluntary pre-trial hearings was the best part of the job,” she said. “It gives people peace of mind by helping them resolve their dispute without going to trial – it removes some of the risk and stress involved in litigation.”

Judge Egan is an active member of the legal community, giving back by serving on Illinois Supreme Court committees, teaching law school classes and judicial seminars and mentoring fellow judges. She has also provided free monthly continuing legal education (CLE) programs for five years to judges and attorneys. She will continue to offer these free CLE sessions while working at ADR Systems.

“I have a strong belief in legal education, and I’ve seen a difference in the development of judges, lawyers and other legal professionals since offering the courses,” she said. “When I started the free CLE programs, there were about 30 people attending, but it’s grown exponentially since then. Recently, there’s been between 300 and 500 people every month, and it’s so gratifying.”

Judge Egan has expertise in resolving personal injury actions such as medical and dental malpractice, construction and auto accidents, product liability and premises liability, as well as commercial disputes such as contract, legal and accounting malpractice, fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, wrongful termination, employment and discrimination. Prior to becoming a judge, she was a highly regarded litigator with Hinshaw & Culbertson.

“Judge Egan is a big plus for ADR Systems because of her extensive judicial background and passion for dispute resolution,” said Marc Becker, president of ADR Systems. “I look forward to seeing her positive impact on the dispute resolution industry and our company for years to come.”
