One of ADR Systems’ neutrals is performing in a two person show, Jew-Si-Can: Diversity Uncorked, at Chicago’s The Second City on four Sunday evenings in September. Senior mediator and arbitrator, Irving (Irv) B. Levinson, will be taking the stage at Second City’s Beat Lounge for four 8:00 pm performances.
The musical and comedic show which Mr. Levinson co-wrote with his theatrical partner, Jessi Realzola, celebrates the life experiences and friendship of an older Jewish lawyer/mediator and a younger Mexican American theatrical artist. The scenes span youth, religious conflicts, father/son and father/daughter emotional journeys, marriage and advancing maturity. The live music is composed by new talent, Aaron Shapiro.
In this show, Mr. Levinson takes his communication skills learned in dispute resolution to an all new arena — dramatic and comedic performance. His daytime career as a lawyer/mediator and nighttime career as an entertainer was recently featured in a Wall Street Journal article about Second City. “While I enjoy mediating and arbitrating, my foray into work on stage is also rewarding,” says Levinson. “I am already working on my next show which draws material from my long legal career and from my work in conflict resolution.”
With more than 30 years of legal experience, Irv is known for his expertise in resolving complex business and corporate matters. He mediates and arbitrates business disputes regarding securities litigation, real estate, corporate and intellectual property, product liability and construction.
