Hon. Lynn M. Egan, (Ret.), senior mediator and arbitrator at ADR Systems, will participate in a free Continuing Legal Education (CLE) presentation titled “What About Me? Coverage for Additional Insureds.”

The presentation will look at complicated insurance coverage issues for additional insureds. This will include the targeted tender rule, competing insurance provisions and duty to defend vs. duty to indemnify.

“The questions and legal issues that arise in the context of additional insureds are frequently complex, confusing and very costly for clients, and it can be impede the ultimate resolution of the underlying case,” Judge Egan said. “The speakers at this seminar are experts in this area and have extremely helpful advice that will benefit all attorneys.”

Judge Egan will speak alongside Robert Marc Chemers, equity partner with Pretzel & Stouffer, and Robert J. Franco, partner at Franco Moroney Buenik, LLP.

The presentation will be from 12:00pm – 1:15pm Tuesday, May 15th, at the James R. Thompson Center Assembly Hall Auditorium. It is approved by the MCLE Board for one hour of general Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credit.

Judge Egan has nearly 22 years of judicial experience in the Cook County Circuit Court, during which time hundreds of cases were transferred to her for settlement conferences. Prior to becoming a judge, she was a highly regarded litigator with Hinshaw & Culbertson. Judge Egan is an active member of the legal community, giving back by serving on Illinois Supreme Court committees.
