ADR Systems’ Family Law Fast Track Mediation Program appeals to parties seeking a quick and lower-cost solution to single issue and post-decree disputes at a time of unprecedented challenges. Parties can mediate these disputes remotely.

“Since its inception more than four years ago, I have found the Fast Track Program to be helpful for family law issues that can’t wait – those that need immediate attention.  It’s a great tool for solving temporary parenting and financial issues, for settling cases involving minimal assets and for other disputes that arise following dissolution of marriage,” said Hon. Helaine L. Berger, (Ret.), senior mediator and arbitrator at ADR Systems. “It’s especially useful for those cases in which parties have only one issue to resolve.”

Under this program, mediation scheduling is expedited so a matter can be addressed within a week. Parties pay a flat fee for 3.5 hours of the mediator’s time. Any additional time is billed at the mediator’s hourly rate.

The results of a 2017 survey reported that it can cost parties nearly twice as much money to litigate versus mediate a family law case. This steep contrast between the costs of litigation and mediation underscores the value of a specialized, expedited program for qualified family law cases – especially now. Parties whose income have been reduced by layoffs or salary cuts during the COVID-19 pandemic will want to resolve issues quickly at a lower cost.  And those who have a settlement agreement in place may need to renegotiate it due to changing circumstances.

Mediators and staff at ADR Systems approach these fast-track sessions with the same care that they give to a typical family law mediation. “While we are fast-tracking your mediation to address pressing issues, we are maintaining the same standard of professional service enjoyed by all clients,” noted Hon. Brian R. McKillip, (Ret.), senior mediator and arbitrator at ADR Systems. “The result is an expedited and cost-effective approach to resolving specific issues that are time-sensitive in family law cases.”
