Hon. William J. Haddad, (Ret.), senior mediator and arbitrator at ADR Systems, was presented with the Mentorship Award by the Northwest Suburban Bar Association.

The award recognizes lawyers with an extraordinary record of service as a mentor in the legal community.

“I’m very proud of mentoring lawyers; it’s a reward of being in the profession that you have the opportunity to mentor people,” said Judge Haddad. “Coming out of law school, attorneys have to rely on someone that encourages professionalism.”

Judge Haddad’s commitment to mentorship has been evident throughout his career, including as a neutral with ADR Systems.

“As a lawyer, judge and neutral, Judge Haddad takes the time to make sure people understand and if they do not, he takes time to educate,” said Gary A. Newland, President of the Northwest Suburban Bar Association. “This is evidenced by his skills as a mediator, the numerous seminars he has given and his webpage regarding jury instructions, where he provides free resources to attorneys and judges.

Hon. William J. Haddad, (Ret.) has spent decades practicing law. Judge Haddad led a civil litigation firm for 18 years, served as a company president and spent 10 years as a Law Division judge in the Circuit Court of Cook County.  His broad background allows Judge Haddad to resolve a wide array of commercial and personal injury disputes.  Judge Haddad is very active in the Chicago legal and business community and has received numerous awards for his service.
