ADR Systems congratulates Hon. Dennis J. Burke, (Ret.) for successfully mediating two difficult and complex cases, in just two days.  Judge Burke recently settled  an emotionally-charged personal injury case for the policy limits of $6 million.  The case involved a motorcycle accident in which the bike unexpectedly hit a ditch, ejecting both passengers.  The plaintiff in the case sustained a life altering traumatic brain injury that required months of hospitalization and rehabilitative care.

The plaintiff was represented by Christopher Norem and Joseph Parente of Parente & Norem, P.C.  The previous day, Judge Burke settled a large commercial fire loss case, involving a national insurer, for nearly $13 million.

Hon. Dennis Burke, (Ret.) is a highly regarded mediator and arbitrator.  He brings to each case a wealth of experience garnered from his 15 years serving on the Circuit Court of Cook County.  During his tenure on the bench, he conducted approximately 1,800 settlement conferences while presiding over 700 commercial cases and law jury trials.  In private practice, Judge Burke also navigated and negotiated many contract disputes, working with transactional attorneys.  Judge Burke was an early advocate of dispute resolution and has won acclaim for his settlement skills.  He’s also well-known for his keen ability to build trusting relationships with all parties.
