Hon. Lisa R. Curcio, (Ret.), senior mediator and arbitrator at ADR Systems, will participate in a panel discussion concerning discovery and arbitration during the coronavirus pandemic.

The panel will be conducted over Zoom during the Chicago Bar Association’s Civil Practice Committee meeting on Tuesday, October 13^th.

“I think that the pandemic has had less of an effect on discovery in arbitration,” said Judge Curcio. “Arbitration has always allowed a more customized discovery process for the parties. They can choose to use court rules, apply modified court rules, or not use court rules at all.”

Judge Curcio will be joined by Hon. Gabriel A. Fuentes, U.S. Magistrate Judge for the Northern District of Illinois, and Hon. Anna H. Demacopoulos, Circuit Court of Cook County. The panel will be provided questions by members of the committee.

“With a federal magistrate judge, a state court judge and an arbitrator on the panel, participants will hear an exchange of ideas from different dispute resolution perspectives to assist them in helping their clients through an uncertain time,” said Judge Curci0.
