Hon. Ronald D. Sutter, (Ret.), senior mediator and arbitrator at ADR Systems, will discuss how to mediate eviction cases at the DuPage County Bar Association’s (DCBA) event “18th Judicial Circuit Eviction Mediation Training” on September 9th.
Judge Sutter will be joined by Ted A. Donner, Donner & Company Law Offices LLC. The DCBA is organizing this event as part of an initiative to recruit attorneys to mediate eviction cases.
The panel will be focusing on the basics of mediation. The DCBA aims to educate attorneys who will be serving as mediators in eviction cases.
“By mediating these cases, attorneys will help reduce the back-up of eviction cases within the court system,” Judge Sutter said. “Mediation is an opportunity to move forward quicker than litigation. Whether or not those dealing with eviction proceedings are pro se or hire a lawyer, the goal is settlement as soon as possible,” Judge Sutter said.
