What’s next for alternative dispute resolution? Marc Becker, president and founder of ADR Systems, and Michael Koss, Business Development & Marketing Associate Manager at ADR Systems, recently published an article, responding to that question, in the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin. Their article, Remote Dispute Resolution Still Strong in a Post-Pandemic World, provides a preview of what is on the horizon for attorneys involved in alternative dispute resolution (ADR).

New research and ADR topics on the application of AI, preemptive thinking about ADR and the malleability of the process are discussed.  “Remote dispute resolution has facilitated significant changes in legal practice these past three years and will likely be a fixture of alternative dispute resolution services in the years ahead,” they write. “As the profession moves forward, the humanity, customizability and flexibility of the ADR process should be top of mind.”

ADR Systems staff and neutrals have written extensively about remote dispute resolution. Judge Axelrood, Judge McGrath, Judge Hanlon and Judge Brown have each published articles on the topic in various legal industry publications, commenting on the changing state of the ADR industry, helping counsel prepare for remote proceedings and reviewing the ethical implications of remote mediation.

ADR Systems is a perfect fit for commercial disputes that would otherwise find themselves in state court. Though they may no longer have the ability to formally wield the gavel, the former judges at ADR Systems still demand the respect necessary to get parties to the table.
